A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her mother and chopping the body into pieces in Urua Aran, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom.
According to sources, the incident happened on Friday and was found out by a business partner, with whom the deceased traded petty goods.
Reports say, after several knocks on the door without a response, the visitor proceeded into the room, only to be greeted with the rude shock.
An alarm was raised and the suspect was allegedly caught asking people to buy ‘cow’ meat not far from her house. She was bundled to the scene of the crime where it was discovered, a bowl containing body parts of the deceased.
However, the suspect confessed to the crime. Reports have it that the suspect is allegedly battling a psychiatric disorder.
It is not yet clear if the killing was induced, but it is said the alleged killer had a history of insanity and had returned from a therapist where her deceased mom had sought a cure for her, not quite long before the incident occurred.
It’s also reported that the suspect was given a prophecy that her mother was a witch which might have prompted her to carry out the horrible act.
