It is time to Occupy Buhari’s Government __Written by Segun Adesokan
Given the unsettling and provocative events of the last few days of sudden hike in electricity tariff and pomp price, in addition to the prevailing tales of woes occasioned by insecurity, banditry and rampaging Herdsmen, any serious country by now should have seized the city by its jugular by joining forces with other members of the Public in protest, to demand resignation of Buhari’s clueless government.
By now I expected cities across the country to be on lockdown, while the people, in their millions protest against this government, once and for all, until Buhari is shamefully forced to resign!!
Haven’t Nigerians had enough of his clueless, purposeless, repressive, directionless, satanic leadership of misery, blood shed, hunger, inflation, economic chaos, extra Judicial killing, and zero ragard for rule of law?
For how long should Nigerians continue to tolerate Buhari’s inept presidency, whose job is to kill and destroy livelihoods of those he swore to preserve?
How low and callous could it get again, with a country barely recovering from recession, grappling with post Covid 19 economic harsh realities even as more and more jobs are being lost, where its citizens are gasping for Economic stimulus from the government, only to for it to inflict them with more grueling pains and unhealthy economic policies.
The opposition in Nigeria has lost its soul in its inability to lead a credible and purposeful opposition party, while several other self acclained activists of yesteryears have gone mute, deaf and blind to the plight of the oppressed.
Who did this to us? Who has bewitched us by making us accept this kind of fate, even as many have resorted cowardly to an intimidating silence?
To my fellow country men who would love to feign ignorance and feel unconcerned, simply because they are members of APC, well, I hope you all understand we all spend the same naira, go to the same market and are affected by the same factors of economic uncertainties which Buhari led government has brought upon the country.
Enough is enough! Where do we go from here?
