INEC Under Pressure, Yet To Declare Governorship Results In Seven States

The election results of at least seven states are yet to be decided as the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) and the opposition party, People Democratic Party (PDP) captured 19 states from the 21 states declared so far. 


The Independent National Electoral Commission has yet to officially announce the results of the governorship elections in Kaduna, Zamfara, Rivers, and Taraba states, Kebbi and Adamawa have been declared inconclusive.


The collation of results in Enugu and Abia States was also halted by the apex electoral body after political thugs disrupted the process.

The APC won 14 governorship elections, PDP won five, and while New Nigerian Peoples Party won only Kano State. 


The states where gubernatorial elections were held last weekend are listed below, along with the winners and first runner-ups.


The governorship elections took place alongside the State House of Assembly polls across the 36 States of the Federation.
