Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has once again elucidated his teachings on tithing, emphasising that he has never encouraged Christians to cease giving tithes.
The Cleric apologised for saying anyone who does not pay tithes will not make heaven.
However, during the church’s October Holy Ghost Service at Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State on Saturday, Adeboye addressed the misrepresentations.
According to him, his apology message was misinterpreted stating how surprised he was by how quickly false reports spread online, claiming he had discouraged tithe payment.
He further explained he encouraged believers to give more than the traditional 10 per cent, referencing an encounter at Kenneth Hagin’s church where a man shared how his financial situation improved after committing to tithe 90% of his income.
