Students of Oko Polytechnic, a federal institution situated in Anambra State have come out to lament the disheartening activities melted on them by the school management as selling of not less than 100-bags of sachet water becomes compulsory for all, promising that mark will be awarded as compensation to soften the stress as disobedience will lead to extra year before a successful graduation will be achieved.
This recent outcry has drawn the attention of the public and currently sparking a lot of reactions after some of the students from the department of Food Technology, Oko Polytechnic lamented online while complaining that each student in their class is mandated to sell not less than 100 bags of sachet water, return the complete money from sales to department before marks will be awarded as part of their continuous assessment towards successful graduation.
The students who were forced into becoming a pure water seller as against their wish while decrying their ordeal shared some disheartening pictures of them pushed to the street as captured outside the school premises in the polytechnic community selling their own given quantity of sachet water by the polytechnic management with wheel-barrow so as to avoid failure, leading to carry-over, resulting into spending extra-year the said school.
It would be worthy of note that while some have summoned the courage to enter into the street in ensuring that they finish the sales of their given quantity despite the shame, trauma and stress, some students are yet to comply, contemplating on how to go about with finishing their own apportioned quantity.
