The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has officially handed over a 750-unit luxury housing estate to the Federal Ministry of Housing.
The estate was previously confiscated from former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
According to News Corner Nigeria, the handover ceremony took place in Abuja, where EFCC Chairman Olukoyede reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring that stolen public assets are recovered and repurposed for the benefit of Nigerians.
Receiving the property, the Minister of Housing, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, announced that the federal government plans to sell the upscale duplexes to Nigerian buyers.
According to him, the sales process will be transparent and competitive, with all transactions conducted through the Renewed Hope Portal, the government’s official housing platform.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda remains focused on expanding access to affordable housing and ensuring accountability in public asset management. These properties will be sold in a manner that prioritizes openness, fairness, and the best interest of Nigerians,” Dangiwa stated.
The 750-unit estate, located in a highbrow area of the Federal Capital Territory, is expected to generate substantial revenue for the government, marking a key milestone in efforts to recover looted funds and reallocate national resources to citizens.
Further details, including application procedures and eligibility requirements, will be made available on the Renewed Hope Portal in the coming days.
