A building under construction in the vicinity of the Ochanja market in Onitsha, Anambra State, has collapsed. The incident occurred on Monday evening, resulting in one death and the entrapment of several people.
The building collapse created a state of panic among the residents and passers-by in the area, as they rushed to rescue the victims trapped under the rubble. The scene was one of chaos and desperation, as people desperately tried to free those trapped beneath the debris.
Sources revealed that the collapse occurred while workers were still inside the building, which was to be converted into a market upon completion.
