Major Dr. Hamza Al-Mustapha, a former Chief Security Officer to General Sani Abacha, has joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
This was made known by a report from PressExpress in a developing story.
This move comes as opposition leaders, including those alienated from the All Progressives Congress (APC), are reportedly negotiating to form a united front against President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections.
Al-Mustapha, who previously ran under the Action Alliance (AA) in the 2023 general elections, is not the only high-profile politician to make this shift.
He joins the likes of Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, and other key figures in meeting with SDP leaders to strategize for the upcoming elections.
This signals a growing movement within the SDP, with a plan to challenge the current administration.
