Borno Govt. pledges fallen commander’s family new house, N20m


The family of a commander of Nigerian troops fighting Boko Haram insurgents in the Damboa axis of Borno who got killed at the weekend, Colonel Dahiru Chrioma Bako has been gifted a house and twenty million naira by the Borno State government.
Governor Babagana Zulum announced this donation in a statement by his spokesman, Isa Gusau.
Colonel Bako was the Commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole, in charge of Damboa and the surrounding axis in southern Borno.
Governor Zulum in his tributes said Colonel Bako was a gallant and dodged military officer, under whose watch Damboa “was never defeated”.
Colonel Bako succumbed to injuries sustained in the encounter at the Military hospital, Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
