Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal have reached a full agreement with Crystal Palace to sign midfielder Eberechi Eze in a deal worth £60 million.
According to Romano, the move was accelerated following Kai Havertz’s injury, which forced the Gunners to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
The North London club moved swiftly, offering improved terms to outpace rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who had also been in advanced talks with the player.
Romano revealed that despite Spurs’ strong interest, Eze ultimately chose to join Arsenal, making the Gunners his preferred destination.
“Deal in place with Crystal Palace for £60m package as Havertz injury was reason why Arsenal decided to bid. Arsenal offered better terms to anticipate Tottenham… Eberechi Eze preferred to join Arsenal over Spurs,” Romano posted on Facebook.
Eze, 26, has been one of Crystal Palace’s standout performers in recent seasons, earning praise for his creativity, dribbling, and ability to score from midfield.
His arrival at the Emirates is expected to boost Mikel Arteta’s squad depth and attacking versatility as Arsenal push to challenge for silverware.
The deal marks another major summer signing for Arsenal, who are determined to strengthen key areas of their squad ahead of the new campaign.
