Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga has made claims that supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi are organizing nationwide protests. Onanuga, in an effort to link the upcoming demonstrations to specific groups, alleged that the supporters of Peter Obi and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are involved in the organization of these protests.

Onanuga stated that Obi would be held accountable for any issues resulting from his supporters’ actions, indicating a belief that these protests would be disruptive or illegal.

Bayo Onanuga alleged that two years after the #EndSARS movement, IPOB and a subset of supporters within the Labour Party who he describes as ‘gullible innocents’ joined forces to support Peter Obi, whose sympathies he claims lie with their cause.

Bayo Onanuga asserted further that the hashtags used by IPOB and Peter Obi’s supporters who he describes as ‘gullible innocents’ in their planned nationwide protests, such as ‘#EndBadGovernance’ and ‘#RevolutionNow,’ are actually calls for treason and a coup d’etat, which are serious crimes against the state.”
