A chairmanship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orile-Agege LCDA, Abimbola Tijani Oladokun, has decried what she calls a heavily manipulated and unjust primary election process, accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of long-standing political suppression dating back to 2007.
In a passionate outburst at the APC primary venue in ACME, Oladokun expressed frustration over years of alleged marginalization, stating that her political ambition has been systematically sabotaged for nearly two decades.
“Tinubu is my problem,” she said. “He took my ticket in 2007 without compensation, and ever since then, he has continued to impose candidates over me every time I contest.”
Oladokun, who is the only female aspirant cleared to contest in Orile-Agege LCDA, lamented that despite public declarations to support female participation in politics, those promises remain unfulfilled in practice Lagos Reporters reports.
“He said female aspirants should be prioritized, but they are not doing that. They’re doing something else entirely,” she stated. “I’ve contested four times now. What more do I have to prove?”
She also recalled a painful personal loss tied to her political journey, saying, “I lost my husband during the Koro saga. Politics took him away, and I’ve carried on alone. Yet, they keep treating me like I don’t belong.”
Oladokun further alleged irregularities at the venue of the primaries, pointing out a troubling incident that reinforced her belief that the process was rigged.
“Today, one of the party’s allegedly endorsed candidates arrived at the venue in the same vehicle with the delegates. Is that not an aberration?” she asked. “How do you explain that? It’s obvious they have manipulated the delegates.”
She ended her remarks with a stern condemnation of the entire exercise.
“This primary is not credible. It’s a shame. The process has been hijacked, and true party loyalists like myself are being pushed aside over and over again.”
