“Breath of Life,” a captivating Nigerian drama, stole the show at the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) by clinching the highly-coveted Best Movie Award.
The 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos on Saturday, recognizing and celebrating outstanding achievements in African cinema. Adding to the accolades for the film “Breath of Life,” lead actor Wale Ọjọ won the prestigious Best Actor Award for his compelling performance.
The film, which was executively produced by BB Sasore and Derin Adeyokunnu, premiered in November 2023 and marked the first project of a three-part deal between Nemsia films and Amazon studios.
Written and directed by BB Sasore, with Eku Edewor as producer, the drama film enjoyed a successful run, winning several other categories such as Best Director for Sasore, Best Lead Actor for Wale Ojo, and Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Ademola Adedoyin and Genoveva Umeh, respectively.

“Breath of Life” is a faith-inspired film that chronicles the transformative journey of Timi, a young clergyman who finds himself grappling with a loss of purpose and direction in life. Just as Timi hits rock bottom, he crosses paths with Elijah, a pivotal figure who plays an instrumental role in altering the course of Timi’s life and destiny.
