Aggrieved Nigerians Closing Down Their Accounts With Access Bank In Solidarity With EndSARS Protest


Some Nigerians are now closing their accounts with Access Bank, following reports that the bank froze accounts of 8 individuals who promoted the

EndSARS protest on instruction of the Government authorities.

Report reveals that Access Bank restricted these accounts following order from by the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN).


Recall that the CBN had obtained court order to freeze accounts of 12 individuals and companies promoting the peaceful protest to demand an end to bad governance in Nigeria.


Also, reports reveals that some financial institutions, including Access Bank, First Bank Nigeria, Fidelity Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Zenith Bank and United Bank For Africa restricted accounts of # EndSARS promoters.


In response, many Nigerians have resorted to closing their accounts with Access Bank, mainly because it allegedly already restricted the activists accounts even prior to confirming the order by Federal Government or getting court sanctions to activate the order.
