Popular Nollywood actor, Yomi Gold has parted ways with his wife, Meenah.
The actor confirmed the development in an Instagram post on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Gold attributed the split to the death of love in his marriage which is barely a year old, while urging fans, friends and family members to respect the decision.
The actor admitted that his estranged partner is a “better person”, adding that he would work on himself going forward.
The post read in part, “When love dies in a relationship. No one should force it. I want to use this time to thank everyone who has been very concerned and supportive.
“Meenah is a good person, she doesn’t deserve a man like me. She will make a great and loving partner to a far better person than me.
“I am not perfect.. I will work on myself and be a better person.
“This has to be published because we want everyone who knows about us to be aware of our decision. Time will be good again.”
Recall the Nollywood actor married an up-and-coming actress, Ameenat, also called Meenah, in January 2022, after dissolving his first nearly 15-year-old marriage, which had produced two children.
The now-estranged couple welcomed their child in April 2022.
Meanwhile, Gold’s divorce comes amid the disturbing trend of marriage split that has rocked the Nigerian entertainment space in recent times.
