“Story time again!!! Lagos needs better security than those stop and search that ask ‘oga how weekend, anything for us?!!’” Johnson wrote, criticizing the often-perfunctory efforts of local law enforcement.

Popular Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has shared his encounter with armed robbers in Lagos, blasting Nigeria’s inadequate security.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the 47-year-old actor recounted how he narrowly escaped a robbery attempt shortly after returning to the country.
“Story time again!!! Lagos needs better security than those stop and search that ask ‘oga how weekend, anything for us?!!’” Johnson wrote, criticizing the often-perfunctory efforts of Nigerian police officers.
According to the actor, the frightening ordeal occurred while he was stuck in traffic caused by two faulty trailers that were occupying the road and failing to stay in their lanes.
“I heard a big bang on my windshield and the next thing I saw were three thugs all over my car! Trust me they were more but that was all my eyes, out of fear, could count!” he wrote.
The assailants attempted to strip his vehicle of parts—yanking at his side mirrors and trying to smash his windshield—while he remained trapped in the immobile traffic.
“From both sides I heard ‘yo mirror e’ (remove the mirror) and the other side ‘fo glass e’ (break the windshield)… all these happened because of two mumu trailers with smoke occupying the whole road!”
Johnson praised his own alertness and quick thinking for helping him avoid further harm, but stressed that such escapes should not depend on luck or personal instinct.
He ended his post with a firm call for the Lagos State Government and security agencies to move beyond superficial “stop and search” exercises and instead invest in real, effective protection for residents and visitors.
