A Nigerian woman, Prudence Daniel-Obia, who was 36 years old and expecting triplets, lost her life in the United Kingdom, along with her unborn children.
Prudence and her husband made the monumental decision to embark on a new journey by relocating to the United Kingdom in September 2022.
On June 21, 2024, the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom was thrown into a state of collective grief as news of the unexpected demise of Prudence Daniel-Obia, a cherished member, circulated.
The community in a post shared on its official X account @NIUKCommunity says: “Late last year, she got pregnant with her first child. Excited for what the future holds, coupled with her new immigration status, Prudence was really hopeful for the coming months, excited to become a new mum, and had the dream of starting a new family with her beloved husband.
“However, on Friday, the 21st of June 2024, just three days after her 36th birthday, tragedy struck! Prudence went to bed and did not wake up! She died, together with her unborn babies (she was expecting triplets), leaving behind her distraught husband and aged parents.
“In this time of grief, we are reaching out to our community for support.”
