A 23-year-old man, Samson, was apprehended by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his mother to death in Obiaruku, Ukwuani LGA.
Reports reveal that the apprehended suspect, Samson, had allegedly developed a debilitating addiction to drugs. Tragically, this addiction appears to have played a significant role in the gruesome act of violence against his own mother, with the fatal altercation reportedly sparked by her attempts to discourage him from indulging in drug use first thing in the morning.
A chilling video of the aftermath of the horrific crime is now circulating on social media, adding to the already devastating nature of the incident. The footage captures the suspect, Samson, still brandishing the knife allegedly used in the attack as his mother lays lifeless, surrounded by a pool of her own blood.
A close relative of the suspect, Samson, has revealed that the 23-year-old initially left his hometown of Obiaruku to pursue vocational training in Asaba after completing secondary school.
Reports indicate that Samson’s time in Asaba took a dark turn when he became embroiled with a group of individuals who led him into the world of drug abuse. This exposure reportedly had a profoundly negative impact on his mental health, leading him to return home to Obiaruku after just a few months.
