In the most recent Continuous Voter Registration, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, discovered 2.7 million instances of double registration.
Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, clarified this during a National Endowment for Democracy event in Washington, DC, in the United States.
The impacted individuals, according to the commission, have been removed from the voter list of the commission.
The development was also verified to reporters by Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chairman’s spokesperson.
Meanwhile, the INEC boss has also raised concerns about security challenges across the country, while assuring stakeholders that the commission will do its best.
