When genuine voices reverberates, ingenuine noises and echos evaporates. No name or voice has a sustained signature on the sands of time as a protagonist of Anti-corruption and pro-good governance like Omoyele Sowore.
From his days of campus activism as a Student Union Leader to his recognized role in the build up to 1993 General Elections in Nigeria, Sowore has remained consistent and purposeful in the fight against corruption, cultism and bad leadership.
He is not a gyrator or a chiefo in the movement of a better Nigeria, he is the only Voice currently preaching the gospel of Anti-corruption amongst all the Presidential Candidates put together.
As much as the “go and verify” movement is gaining grounds because of the massive emotional sympathies and southeast sentiments from the Igbo extraction, who are also financing the “POS” campaign, let us bring our attention to attention. The question remains, why is Peter Obi NOT emphasizing on the Anti-corruption crusade as one of the key points of his manifesto, only economy, security and education, why?
It is simple, there are shadow forces from the North and middlebelt that may result in possibly rooting for Mr Peter Obi if he agrees to their terms and if other contestants go astray from a scheduled arrangement to serve the purpose of the oligarchs, I so believe.
Omoyele Sowore’s living legacy is consistency and a sustained agitation against corruption for which even the Obi rush and ‘no shishi’ mantra is not hinged.
How can you tackle insecurity, educational failure and economic upheaval without suffocating corruption to death, how?
Nigerians, Omoyele has been caged by the presidency and judiciary because they know his national town hall tour is the next big trend that no rush for PVC can suppress.
Let the Federal Government release Omoyele Sowore and see how youths and women rally round to insist on free, fair and credible election that will make the Father of Anti-corruption in our country the next President of Nigeria in 2023.
I’m Charima, I just want to make unusual sense.
