The Kano State Police Command has officially confirmed the deaths of 15 individuals following the tragic mosque arson attack in Gadan village, Gezawa Local Government Area.
The horrifying incident occurred when a man allegedly locked the doors of the mosque and set it ablaze, trapping approximately 40 worshippers inside.
Kano State Police Commissioner Usaini Gumel confirmed that 15 of the 24 victims injured in the recent mosque attack in Gadan village have tragically lost their lives.

Initial reports had indicated just one fatality, but the death toll rose as more victims succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.
Gumel said that the incident occurred during a dawn prayer at a mosque in Gadan village, leaving 24 worshippers injured.
The horrific incident occurred when a 38-year-old man, identified as Shafi’u Abubakar, allegedly locked the doors of the mosque and set it ablaze, trapping worshippers inside during dawn prayers. Police have since arrested Abubakar, and the investigation into the motivations behind the attack continues as the community mourns the devastating loss of life.
