1. FORMER President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has hinted that he wishes to live beyond 100 years so as to have more opportunities to celebrate with the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Sabur Bakare, Jamolu II.
Obasanjo, who clocked 83 this year, while speaking at the interdenominational service to mark the first anniversary of the monarch held in Abeokuta, said he wishes to be at the 20th anniversary of the monarch.
2. The federal high court, Abuja has ordered the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, a former Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Kumai Aka’ahs (Rtd) and heads of security agencies in the country, to appear before in court in respect of the ethnic clashes in Taraba State.

EFCC zonal head in Lagos State, Abdulrasheed Bawa said officials of the commission caught involved in corrupt practices are prosecuted.

Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and Minister of Agriculture under President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term, Chief Audu Ogbe has lamented that, Nigeria has never witnessed the type of security challenges it is currently facing, where lives are wasted day and night, except during civil war.
Chief Ogbe stated this in Kaduna on Wednesday at the maiden meeting of the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) of ACF, which he chairs.
The new ACF Chairman stated categorically that, the North, which covers 78 percent of the Nigeria’s landmass, is faced with the problems of killings day and night which are greater than ever, except during the civil war.
According to him, “we have not faced this challenge before: Killings day and night. At no time has life been so tough except during the civil war,” he said.
5. Students in universities across the country protested in Abuja, Wednesday, over the continued closure of schools arising from the outbreak of coronavirus.
The protesting student who converged on the nation’s capital city, demanded the immediate reopening of schools, flaying the government for its decision not to reopen schools for activities to commence having opened religious places, markers, airports among others.
6. The presidency yesterday spurned reports suggesting that President Mu- hammadu Buhari’s nephew, Malaikm Mamman Daura, had been flown out of the country for medical checkup, saying renowned industrialists was in sound health.

8. Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, has defended the increase in hate speech fine from N500,000 to N5 million.
Shehu, during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, said the initial penalty for hate speech was not being respected .
Nigerians have condemned the move by the federal government to increase the fine, saying it is an attempt to gag them.
